Getting Started

Vuforia Engine is the most widely used platform for AR development, with support for the majority of phones, tablets, and eyewear. Developers can easily add advanced computer vision functionality to Android, iOS, and UWP apps, to create AR experiences that realistically interact with objects and the environment.

Vuforia Engine Library 9.8

The Vuforia Engine Library 9.8 contains all existing technical documentation regarding Vuforia Engine SDK 9.8. This version has now been concluded and new features will only be available with the new and improved Vuforia Engine SDK – Vuforia Engine 10. We are therefore preparing to retire the 9.8 Vuforia Engine and this library in the future, and we encourage you to discover the many benefits of the new API before we end the support of the 9.8 version.

In the sidebar's Getting Started menu, you will see that the Vuforia Engine Library is organized by all of the platforms that Vuforia Engine supports. Vuforia Engine supports both the Unity Engine as well as the three major native platforms: iOS, Android, and Universal Windows Platform (UWP).

The Vuforia Engine Library is also organized by major feature categories. The major feature categories are Objects, Environments, and Platform Support. See also Vuforia Tools and Vuforia Features overview pages to get started.

Lastly, the library contains the Vuforia Engine API documentation which includes C# APIs for Unity, C++ APIs for iOS, Android and UWP.
